In 1897, a brick church was built under the guidance of the French missionary Peru. In 1899, a call was made to build a cave that imitated Lourdes in France, and various stones were collected from various parts of Goto to build Lourdes. After completion, the spring water of Lourdes was poured from France, and the statue of the Virgin from France was placed in the cave. In 1900, the celebration ceremony of Iura Church Lourdes was held.In 1987, it was rebuilt in the current Iura Church due to the damage of the typhoon.
